A Look at Local Native Plants as Food In-Person
Leslie Mouriquand, professor of archealogy and anthropology, presents a look at local edible plants. Mesquite, acorn, prickly pear, and pine nuts are just a few of the many plants available in our area. She'll give a botanical overview and discuss the traditional uses by the Cahuilla. To top it off, she'll supply muffins and cookies made from some of these ingredients for us to sample.
