Faces & Places Reading Group: "American Sherlock: Murder, Forensics, and the Birth of American CSI" by Kate Winkler Dawson In-Person
Join us for our reading group, “Faces & Places” where we will discuss interesting lives and locations. October’s topic is Kate Winkler Dawson’s book, ‘American Sherlock: Murder, Forensics, and the Birth of American CSI,” a biography of Edward Oscar Heinrich, a pioneering forensic scientist from the early 20th century who was dubbed the "American Sherlock Holmes." The book details his life and career, showcasing how he developed many of the forensic techniques we rely on today, such as ballistics and blood spatter analysis, through his work on high-profile true crime cases.
