Unravel the secrets of American Mahjong in this fun and engaging four-week series designed specifically for beginners. Taught by experienced instructors, this progressive course will equip you with all the knowledge and skills you need to enjoy this social game.

Over the course of four sessions, you will learn:

  • Introduction to the Game: Explore the tiles, suits, and basic components of American Mahjong. Understand the game's objective and scoring system.
  • Building Your Hand: Learn how to build melds (sets of tiles) – pung (three of a kind), kong (four of a kind), quints (five of a kind) – and develop strategies for acquiring tiles.
  • Calling Discards & Exposing Melds: Delve into the exciting world of calling discards from other players and exposing your melds on the table.
  • Putting It All Together & Winning Strategies: Learn how to win by completing a Mahjong hand (according to the National Mah Jongg League rules) and explore basic winning combinations.

Registration covers all four sessions in this beginner Mahjong series. Space is limited, so register early!
