Each week during the RCLS Summer Reading Program, the Creation Station will offer a free craft program that ties into the theme of the week.
Week 3: Express Yourself
Tell the story of YOU by creating a self-portrait using UV sensitive paper called Cyanotype. Patrons will lay objects or image negative on the paper and then place it outside in the sun. After so many minutes, the patrons will develop the paper and see that the areas exposed to sunlight turn blue and the covered areas remain white. Once your portrait dries, you can place it in a picture frame that you can decorate and personalize.
This craft is limited to the first 20 patrons. No RSVPs, first come only.
The Creation Station is located inside the La Quinta Public Library across the hall from the Community Program Room.
